An unmarked police car that was stolen Friday morning from the driveway of a Miami-Dade cop has been recovered.
The 2015 dark gray four-door Dodge Charger was found Saturday submerged in a canal on Southwest 42 Street and 162nd Avenue, a mere 13 blocks from where it was stolen. The investigation into the theft is ongoing, according to Miami-Dade police.
This was at least the fifth cop car stolen in Miami-Dade during the past two years. The last stolen police car, in April, was also found submerged — in a lake.
