Suspended FIU business professor David Ralston, accused of drugging and sexually violating a cleaning woman working at his Fort Myers home on April 29, made his $100,000 bond last week. He has a scheduled trial date of July 25 in Lee County Criminal Court.
The cleaning woman said Ralston gave her a drugged drink, then took advantage of her sexually. Lee County detectives believe they have part of the alleged rape on Ralston’s home surveillance camera video.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force — with help from Lee County — tracked down Ralston on June 16 at a Days Inn near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Ralston, who has homes in Weston and Fort Myers, came to FIU in 2012. After his arrest, the university suspended the 69-year-old and removed his profile from the business school’s website.
