Miami police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who tried to rip off a clerk at knifepoint at a convenience store.
Police say the man entered the Golden Market at 501 NW 12th Ave. at 6:30 p.m. Monday with a gray shirt wrapped around his right arm. While the clerk was helping another customer, police say, the man pulled a knife out from under the shirt and demanded money.
When the victim yelled “call the police,” the man fled, police say. He’s described as an Hispanic male, five-feet, eight-inches tall and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a polo shirt and dark jeans.
Anyone with information should call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
