Police arrest 21-year-old in Wednesday’s shooting of teen in leg

Antwon Anthony Gilbert, 21, known on the street as "Poo Man," was arrested late Thursday afternoon and charged with shooting a teenager in the leg.

The victim, Dequan Gordon, 16, was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Witnesses to the shooting told detectives and a state prosecutor at the scene that Gilbert, wearing a black hoodie and black pants, pulled up to an apartment at 7550 NW 19th Ave. in a red Camry Wednesday evening.

They said he got out of the car and fired twice, then got back into the car and fired twice more. Gordon took a bullet in the leg.

Gilbert has been charged with attempted premeditated murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

In a separate incident on Wednesday evening, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in northwest Miami-Dade. David Goulbarne was walking along the sidewalk in front of the two-story, red-and-tan apartments at Northwest 71st Street and 14th Avenue when someone walked up and shot him. The teen stumbled into the apartment complex before he collapsed.
