A drunken Miami Lakes man taking photos and videos of parked vehicles in a shopping plaza shot at the car owners after they told him to back off, according to police.

At about 3 a.m. Monday, police say an intoxicated 47-year-old Danny Casavilla-Garcia was in the parking lot of a shopping center at 15544 NW 77th Ct in Miami Lakes and was taking pictures of parked cars on his cellphone.

That’s when two men, Cedeno Alvarado and Angulo Moreno, approached him and told him to stay away from their cars, according to his arrest report.

After a brief verbal confrontation, Casavilla-Garcia pulled out a gun and shot at the two men, Miami-Dade police say.

Alvarado, standing near his vehicle, was struck in the pelvis and fled to a nearby Shell gas station to seek help. Moreno, sitting in his car, escaped injury but a bullet shattered his driver-side window and struck the rear passenger door and window, police say.

Both men called 911.

A responding officer found Alvarado hiding inside the Shell convenience store, while Moreno returned to look for the injured Alvarado.

Casavilla-Garcia also called 911, reporting his location behind a nearby business. Officers located him shortly after, recovering a handgun from his back pocket. Casavilla-Garcia was detained at gunpoint by police.

He is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and was charged with two counts of attempted murder with a firearm, as of Tuesday afternoon. A judge denied him bond.
