The man killed by U.S. Marshals Task Force members Wednesday night had been on the run since the Jan. 16 murder of his kids' grandmother in her home with her daughter and his kids present.
Thursday, Fort Lauderdale police identified Dytadious Mobley as the man who was dead after what they say was an exchange of gunfire in the 900 block of West Sunrise Boulevard just after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Police claim that when detectives on the U.S. Marshals South Florida Regional Task Force tried to make contact with Mobley upon seeing him, he reacted by firing at them with a gun in each hand. They returned fire and hit Mobley.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting assisted by Fort Lauderdale cops. Anyone with information on it can call 1-800-226-3023.

Mobley's the father of three kids with longtime significant other Letraveya Jefferson. Jefferson and all five of her kids were in her mother Bernice Jefferson's house when, police say, Mobley shot Bernice Jefferson multiple times. She died at Broward Health Medical Center and police named Mobley as the lead suspect the next day.
