Armed robbers killed a Little Havana pawn shop patron in his 60s before making off with some jewelry Thursday afternoon, according to Miami police.

Police are searching for three suspects who might have been in a red SUV when they fled the area.

Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat said a silent alarm brought police to Value Pawn Shop, 717 SW 17th Ave., after two criminals had begun robbing the store. While one robber smashed a display case for jewelry, another shot 65-year-old Ricardo Soler Reyes, a customer.

The man was unresponsive when police arrived. The crime scene in front of the store interrupted Southwest 17th Avenue traffic between Seventh and Eighth streets from just after 2 p.m. well into afternoon rush hour.
