A shooting late Sunday at an all-night Liberty City market killed one young man and left two others wounded.

Jarrett Houston, 22 and the father of a 3-year-old girl, died in a spray of bullets that left the multicolored front wall of Miller's Complex market, 6804 NW 15th Ave., with white pockmarks. The two other victims were in critical condition, according to Miami police.

Miami police said the gunmen rolled up on the trio on foot as they hung out in front of the store around 11:50 p.m.

Gloria McClure, a 12-year resident of a building across the street, said the assault sounded like about12 shots in a steady stream.

"I looked at him like a son," McClure said. "He hooked up my grandchildren's game for me. I have grandchildren his age. He was a nice boy.”

Houston’s Facebook page tended to two things: him having a good time with friends or his duaghter.

As the neighborhood arose and kids went off to school, neighbors sauntered toward the crime scene tape, firing angry words over another area shooting. A woman was shot in her car last month within blocks of Monday's shooting.

One resident in her bathrobe complained that young men regularly loitered in front of the store throughout the nights.

"I just pray to God we all come together,” McClure said. “We need to love each other. You don't have to like (your neighbor), but love him."
