One man was killed and a woman was hurt Wednesday night after a car and a motorcycle crashed in Southwest Miami-Dade County, according to Miami-Dade police.

The crash happened shortly before 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 137th Avenue and 136th Street, police said. Jeanne Ana Barrera, 23, was driving a red 2006 Acura TL southbound on the avenue. Brandon Michael Thomas, 25, drove a Suzuki motorcycle northbound on the avenue, police said.

Barrera was turning left onto 136th Street when she was struck by the motorcycle, police said.

Thomas was thrown from his motorcycle, police said. He died at the scene.
