South Miami detective earns officer-of-year award

South Miami Police Det. Lisa King has earned the accolade of the department’s 2014 officer-of-the-year award.

“Detective King has distinguished herself with her professionalism, dedication and out-of-the-box investigative skills, which led to numerous high profile arrests and the recovery of over $100,00.00 in property,” said South Miami Police Chief Rene G. Landa.

A ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at South Miami City Hall, 6130 Sunset Dr.
