A harrowing Friday incident in North Miami ended with three kidnapped children being found safe.
North Miami Police Department searched for two men, one of them armed, who raced south on Biscayne Boulevard Friday morning in a 1997 Toyota Camry with a kidnapped payload of an infant and two toddlers — ages 5 months, 2 and 3.
The suspects had taken the children from a man’s apartment to force the man to withdraw money for them from his account at the Wells Fargo branch at 12700 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami Police said. When the suspicious teller didn’t hand over the cash, the suspect who had gone into the bank with the man ran back out to the car and zoomed off with his cohort and the children.

A few hours later, the children's mother received a phone call to come and retrieve the kids, and she brought them to the North Miami police station; they were in healthy condition, according to Assistant Police Chief Neal Cuevas.
