Miami District 2 debate topic: Responding to residents' complaints

Jean Longchamps is a 42-year-old resident of Shorecrest. In this video, he voices his concerns about a nightclub/lounge on Biscayne Boulevard and 82nd Street . He says the city had required the club to install impact windows to cut down on noise coming from the club, but that the club didn’t follow through and the city didn’t do anything about it.

Longchamps plans to be ask District 2 election candidates about this issue during our forum, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the American Legion post in the Upper Eastside. (Details and RSVP on Facebook)

The question for candidates at the debate: One of the key roles of a commissioner is responding to residents’ complaints. What are your plans to make sure your office is responsive to concerns and monitor problems until they are resolved ? For Commissioner Marc Sarnoff -- What can you tell us about this issue and how you dealt with it? For the other candidates -- how would you deal with it if elected?

Please note: This video shows Longchamps's opinions and should be seen as his personal take on the issue.
