As a way to kick-off the new year, Arlington Academy of Miami will host its fourth annual Health Fair: Promoting Healthy Living event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 9 at the school, 4814 NW 167th St.
The free health fair, which is hosted in partnership with the city of Miami Gardens, is open to the public. The fair’s keynote speaker will be Vice Mayor Felicia Robinson. Other special guests include Miami Gardens Police Chief Antonio Brooklen and Papa Keith from 103.5 The Beat. The FM radio station’s DJ Ivory will play music during the event.
Arlington Academy of Miami, an elementary, middle and high school has hosted the event for the past three years to help the community gain the tools they need to live healthier lives.
Guests can receive health evaluations, mini-physicals, healthcare gift bags, blood pressure testing, and HIV/STD screening. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. There will also be dental presentations and activities for children.
