Miami Beach police are looking for at least two suspects and a black Ford SUV taken after an armed carjacking early Thursday morning.

Just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Ramon Mercado and Luis Mercado left Miami Beach club Studio 23 and walked to their 2015 Ford Escape, which was parked across the street at 300 23rd St., according to a police report. When Ramon got into the car and turned the engine on, a man in a black hoodie and blue jeans walked to the car, pulled out a black firearm and told him to get out of the car. Another man, also carrying a firearm, walked up to Luis Mercado on the other side of the car.

Both men were told to lean against a brick wall in front of the car, according to the report. The armed men told them to empty their pockets, and took both men’s cell phones and a 18K gold chain before getting into the black Ford Escape and driving away. After driving east toward Collins Avenue on 23rd Street, they turned north on Collins Avenue.

The SUV vehicle tag is YN18S, according to the police report. Police also said there is a third suspect who was driving the armed men’s car, which was described by witnesses as a tan-colored sedan, possibly a Lincoln, with an unknown tag.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
