A speeding Mustang caught fire Tuesday morning after colliding with a parked SUV on Miami Beach’s Collins Avenue, according to Miami Beach police.
Any injuries suffered by the Mustang’s three male occupants weren’t enough to keep them from running.
Witnesses told police the Mustang was racing another car north on Collins Avenue, which turns into a one way northbound street at 26th Street. Upon losing control, the rented iconic American car crashed into an SUV parked on the left side of the street, then caught on fire as it careened across Collins before coming to rest on the right side sidewalk.
The other car continued north on Colllins.
No one has been taken into custody yet for the hit-and-run.
