Body found on busy Kendall street might have been there for more than a day

The body of a cyclist found in a Kendall Drive median might have been there for more than 24 hours after being hit by a car that took off, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A man’s body was found Saturday, and could have been there since late Thursday or early Friday, based on the condition, FHP Lt. Yosdany Veloz said Monday.

Veloz said the body was concealed by bushes, and a bicycle was found nearby.

Investigators believe the man may have been hit by a dark-colored vehicle around Southwest 140th Avenue.

Police do not know the identity of the victim and are asking for the public’s help in the investigation.
