Families in need to get free food in Homestead

Farm Share Inc., a local nonprofit organization, will be providing seasonal fresh produce and shelf-stable goods to families in need in Homestead on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

From 9 a.m. to noon, each family will receive between 25 to 35 pounds of food, including a whole frozen chicken, canned goods, grain products and locally sourced produce.

“Families and anyone who can benefit is welcomed to show up,” said Kristen King Jaiven, from Farm Share. “This event is free and people do not need to give identification to participate.”

Farm Share hosts three to five events each week throughout Florida. They will be hosting multiple events leading up to Thanksgiving.
