The 3-year-old boy taken by his mother — who did not have custody of him — has been found, police announced Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday afternoon Homestead police turned to media outlets for help in finding Xzavius Alexander Edwards III, who was abducted by his mother Clanetha Davis, 31, on Sunday from his aunt’s home.
A tip soon came in that the pair was at Naranja Park, 14150 SW 264th St.
“The child was safe and seemed to be in good health,” said Det. Fernando Morales, a Homestead police spokesman.

Earlier in the day, police said the Florida Department of Children and Families removed Xzavius from his mother’s home because of child abuse and was placed temporarily in the care of his aunt.
Davis visited him at the home in the 900 block of Northwest 11th Street and left with him on Sunday.
Detectives said the child could be in danger because of Davis’ “drug addiction and violent tendencies.”
Morales said Davis was in custody Tuesday evening and was charged with kidnapping.
