A shooting at a Hialeah motel on Sunday started with an argument in a parking lot and ended with a fatal shooting, police said Tuesday in releasing more details and the names of the men involved.

Hialeah police say Daniel Adames of Miami pulled a gun on Andres Marquez, Jr. and shot him in the buttocks. Marquez then took the gun and shot the 30-year-old Adames dead, police said.

No arrests have been made yet in Sunday’s 4 a.m. shooting at the Nexx Motel, 699 E. Okeechobee Rd.

Marquez, 28 and of North Miami-Dade, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, treated and released. Police have not said what sparked the argument.

Marquez was convicted of marijuana possession with intent to distribute in 2011, petit theft in 2015, and disorderly conduct in 2016. Adames doesn’t have a criminal record.
