Mosquitoes to be topic of educational workshop July 14 in Cutler Bay

Cutler Bay Councilman Roger Coriat is hosting an educational and community outreach workshop called: “The Big Sting: Mosquitoes in South Florida” at 6 p.m. July 14.

The Thursday meeting will go until 8 p.m. in Town Hall’s council chambers, 10720 Caribbean Blvd. Dr. Otto Ramos, director of Infectious Diseases for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, and Chalmers Vasquez, operations manager for the Solid Waste Management Department, Mosquito Control for Miami-Dade County, will be guest speakers at the event.

The workshop will have a panel discussion and a question and answer session, regarding dengue, chikungunya, malaria, encephalitis, Zike, West Nile virus, yellow fever and dog heartworm.
