One of Cutler Bay’s most philanthropic groups recently turned 60.
The Cutler Ridge Women’s Club, founded in 1956, celebrated its birthday on May 21. Mayor Peggy Bell, a club member, and councilwoman Sue Ellen Loyzelle were on hand for a proclamation. The 29-member club helps veterans, seniors and children around the world.
The town plans to hang a plaque for the club in the community center or council chambers. The club currently has no home base, but could move to the community center in the future.
Cutler Ridge Women’s Club is affiliated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs, and Dade County Federation of Women’s Clubs. The group meets at 10 a.m. every fourth Tuesday of the month at Cutler Ridge Park, 10100 SW 200th St.
