More than 100 traffic engineers and planners joined Miami-Dade County leaders for the 2015 Complete Streets Forum. At the forum, Cutler Bay Town Manager Ralph Casals spoke about the town’s award-winning Old Cutler Roadway improvement project.
The event was themed “Beyond the Car: Implementing Complete Streets to Achieve Safer, Inviting Corridors and Gateways.” The public was involved in the discussion at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. Casals spoke on the history of the numerous public involvement meetings that were held by the town during the design phase of the project.
Cutler Bay has adopted the nationwide initiative, encouraging the development of walk-able and sustainable communities through an integrated approach to the planning of transportation networks, in both its Old Cutler Road and Caribbean Boulevard projects.
