Last month Peace Flags were unveiled at the Windisch-Hunt Gallery in conjunction with Lama Ngawang Sungrab Phagyab Rinpoche’s visit to the Grove. This Saturday, November 6, the gallery will continue its celebration of peace by holding two workshops for children to create their own Peace Flags.
Starting at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Peace Flag workshops will held to be make flags that will be incorporated into a moving exhibition created by artist and educator Joseph Lawrence Vasile of Ruben Dario Middle School in Miami in an effort to spread a united message of peace. The flags will be exhibited in Panama City at the end of November and again in Haiti in early 2011.
There will be teachers on hand at the workshops to guide the children and donations at the door are welcome.
Windisch-Hunt Fine Arts gallery is located at 2911 Grand Ave., Coconut Grove.
