An elementary school in Coconut Grove was on lockdown after a man struck a Miami police officer in the area.
Miami police said Frances S. Tucker Elementary School at 3500 Douglas Rd. went on lockdown around 2:20 p.m. while police search for the suspect.
The same man is believed to be wanted for a robbery in Coral Gables in July, Miami police Lt. Freddie Cruz said. Police have established a perimeter around the school between Thomas and Williams avenues.
A spokeswoman for Miami-Dade County Public Schools said children are being dismissed in small groups from a safe location at the school.
