A small shopping center in northwest Miami-Dade was ringed with police tape Thursday afternoon. Inside the circle — a yellow convertible and a body.

Miami-Dade police were called to the scene of a shooting near Northwest 126th Street and 18th Court, just before 12:30 p.m., said spokeswoman Marjorie Eloi. They found a man grazed by a bullet.

Witnesses told cops they saw a yellow Chevy Camaro speeding away. When cops found the car on Northwest 127th Street and 17th Avenue, they found a dead man nearby.

“We don’t know if he is the driver of the vehicle or if he was the passenger, but we do know that unfortunately this gentleman lost his life today,” Eloi said.

Family members told Miami Herald news partner CBS4 that the shooting victim is a 24-year-old male.
