Police are investigating a purported drowning at a park in Sweetwater.

Early Tuesday morning, officials reported a man’s body floating in a lake of The Women’s Park on West Flagler Street around Northwest 104th Avenue. He was declared dead at 8:10 a.m.

A Miami Herald reporter who arrived on the scene about 30 minutes later was given no updates by the multiple officers present as divers pulled the body from the water. As of Tuesday evening, Miami-Dade police were waiting for the results of a death investigation to determine more details, including the cause of death and whether foul play might have been involved.

The man’s name has not yet been released.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
