A Miami-Dade County jail was on lockdown Sunday for several hours after a lobby window was shattered and authorities reported hearing a possible gunshot, police said.
Just before 10 a.m., Miami-Dade police responded to reports of a possible gunshot at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. An exterior window of the lobby also was shattered.
There were no reported injuries, police said.
Things looked calm mid-morning at the facility. Authorities had roped off the entrance to the correctional center with caution tape.
The facility was reopened and operating normally before 3 p.m.
