Commuters this week will encounter roadwork challenges on State Roads 826 and 836 as well as on major surface roads such as Northwest 25th Street and the 79th Street Causeway.
Workers on 826, the Palmetto Expressway, will close one lane in intervals of 15 minutes at each stop between Northwest 25th and 103rd streets until Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. This operation will alternate between the northbound and southbound directions. Also, from Thursday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., all westbound lanes will be closed on West 60th Street under 826. The work is related to construction of toll express lanes.
On 836, the Dolphin Expressway, workers painting bridges over the roadway will close the westbound ramps to West Flagler Street and 87th Avenue between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night until Friday. Also, for the same purpose, the southbound ramps of 826 to eastbound 836 will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night until Friday.
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department workers are finalizing work on the 79th Street Causeway and Adventure Avenue, across from the WSVN-Channel 7 studios. As a result, lane restricts in the area will continue during the duration of the project.
In Doral, work on an overhead bridge will close all westbound lanes on Northwest 25th Street at 826 through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
