Wounded were 21-year-old Elijah McCarthy and 1-year-old Ameena Brown.
McCarthy drove himself and the toddler to Homestead Hospital, a few blocks away. Ameena was later taken to Ryder Trauma Center, where she is listed in stable condition.
The toddler did not “belong to” McCarthy, said Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta. The detective said he did not have any other information on the toddler.
The two men involved in the dispute fled, Zabaleta said.
