A violent four-vehicle crash in Miami sent six people to the hospital Tuesday night and shut down the busy thoroughfare.
It was not clear what direction the cars were headed as they collided just south of Northwest 28th Street and 27th Avenue, but all four were found in the northbound lane, said Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll.
“This was a very violent crash,’’ Carroll said.
The four cars involved were a green Mustang convertible, a gray Toyota SUV, a green Nissan Pathfinder and a pickup truck.

A male, who was the only passenger in the Toyota SUV, was taken to Ryder Trauma with a head injury.
The Pathfinder had a father and his three children, ages 12, 16 and 21. The three children were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
“This could have been a lot worse. There were a lot of people [walking] on the sidewalk when this happened.”
