Authorities are searching for a man who violently attacked a woman in Miami earlier this week, kidnapping her at gunpoint and then sexually assaulting her.
Miami police released a sketch of the alleged assailant Friday.
“We are on the trail of the man who attacked the woman,” said Sgt. Freddy Cruz, a police spokesman.
He described the attacker as about 20 years old. He fled the scene carrying various possessions belonging to the victim. The stolen items included bank cards, which have already been used.
The case is being investigated by detectives of the Special Victims Unit.
The assault happened Monday morning in the area of Northeast 86th Street and about 10th Avenue in Miami. Investigators said the attacker used a gun to threaten the victim and hit her several times in the face.
The woman was attacked inside her vehicle while she was parked in the residential area. The assailant opened the front passenger door and climbed into the car, pointed a gun at the victim and made her drive about three houses up the road.
Surveillance cameras show the alleged attacker was wearing dark shorts and a long-sleeve gray hoodie.
In addition to the credit cards, the man also stole a laptop computer and a cellphone. He fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Impala, the surveillance footage shows.
