Two women in their 20s were shot in a car that then crashed into a tree in Southwest Miami-Dade, police said.
One of the victims died, but the other is expected to recover.
Police officers first responded to a call reporting shots fired in front of 12245 SW 218th Street around 9 p.m. Friday, according to a statement. When officers arrived, they found a silver sedan that had crashed into a tree in front of the house, with two women inside.
Both occupants had gunshot wounds, and the car showed signs of being shot at before it had crashed, police said.

The victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where one of the women, who was shot in the abdomen, died. The other victim, who was shot in the left leg, is expected to recover, police said. Their names were not released.
