An American Airlines plane had to be towed from the runway late Friday morning after two tires blew out on landing.

The plane, which came in from New York at 11:30 a.m. as scheduled, had 160 passengers on board, said Mark Henderson, a Miami International Airport spokesman.

Since the plane had to be towed, passengers were taken to the terminal on a shuttle bus, said American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue helped move passengers off the plane, said spokeswoman Kirsten Miller. No one was injured in the event.
