Aqua Foundation For Women will host a town hall meeting 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden to discuss issues important to South Florida’s lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

“The town hall meeting will provide an opportunity for the community to meet the new Aqua Foundation executive director, Caitlin Wood, and to meet the board,” said Lynare Robbins, Aqua events co-chair along with Carol Coombes.

“We have our board retreat two days after the town hall, so the purpose of the meeting is to find out what is important to the community and allow them a platform to give us ideas and feedback,” Robbins said. “The accomplishments in our community recently have been tremendous. We want to continue the great work and also let people know that we are working for them.”

“The Aqua Foundation town hall, held and facilitated by the board of directors and executive director, is an evening of conversation which will focus on the needs of the LBT community in South Florida and the role Aqua Foundation for Women can play in helping to fulfill those needs,” Wood said in a statement.

Added Aqua board Chair Nicole Waters: “The town hall meeting is about community, collaboration, and working together to identify and support the LGBTQ community in South Florida.”

Complementary wine will be served at the town hall, sponsored by Strang-Adams Law Firm.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden is located at 2000 Convention Center Dr.
