Oscar-Emmy-Tony-Grammy-Golden Globe-winning Liza Minnelli on Saturday is celebrating her 70th birthday.
“I like to think of celebrating my birthday as celebrating my Minnellium,” she said Saturday in a statement.
Minnelli, born March 12, 1946, in Los Angeles, has been in the public eye since Day 1. Her parents: legendary movie star Judy Garland and Oscar-winning director Vincente Minnelli.
Despite her lineage, Minnelli became a concert and film superstar on her own.

“One of the promises I made to my mom was I said I will never, ever use you. Ever. I won’t use you to get a job. I won’t use you to get in the papers. I love you, I respect you,” Minnelli told the Miami Herald in 2012. “And she said, ‘All right darling, I know that.’ And so I just kept my promise.”
Three years after her mother died in 1969, Minnelli starred in Bob Fosse’s film, Cabaret. She won the 1973 Academy Award for Best Actress.
