2015 Miami Beach Gay Pride festival begins 6 p.m. Monday with City Hall flag-raising

The week-long 2015 Miami Beach Gay Pride festival officially begins 6 p.m. Monday with the raising of the rainbow flag above Miami Beach City Hall, 1700 Convention Dr.

Immediately after, the action shifts at 7 p.m. to The Palace at 1200 Ocean Dr. for the Stoli Original Key West Cocktail Classic, part of a national competition that concludes June 13 in Key West.

South Beach hosts on Monday night will include Patrik Gallineaux, national LGBT ambassador for Stoli USA, and ) and Missy Meyakie LePaige, 2013’s Best Drag Queen Miami. The Palace contest will be hosted by Tiffany Fantasia, Meagan Sacher of Stoli, 2014 Florida Cocktail Classic champ Edmund Turnley and Steve K. Murray-Smith, Key West’s LGBT sales manager.

The 2015 Miami Beach Gay Pride parade, which last year drew an estimated 100,000 attendees, will be noon Sunday along Ocean Drive and featuring this year’s grand marshal, Mario Lopez.
