“Drag of Ages” — Many of South Florida’s most famous drag queens will perform 10 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at Eighth Street and Ocean Drive to celebrate Miami Beach’s Centennial.

Here’s the news release:

Superstar of stage & screen Elaine Lancaster will command the huge stage for the hour along with legends in the world of Miami Beach but mainly South Florida world of drag.

Witness performances, monologues, dancing, singing and an overall celebration for the city that has extended so much for so many. Miami Beach, known as the American Riviera, has provided an extraordinarily unique path for less than 'conventional' entertainer to flourish and grow where it might have been impossible in other cities in the United States.

Among the evening Entertainers for the evening are:

▪ Kitty Meow

▪ Adora

▪ Mizz Cori

▪ Shelley Novak

▪ Chyna Girl

▪ Henrietta (Robinson)

▪ Wildchild

▪ Tiffany Fantasia

▪ Champagne Bordeaux

▪ Nikki Adams

▪ Yessenia Boom Boom Phillips

▪ & the emcee, Elaine Lancaster

and a few surprise guests.

It will certainly be an emblematic end to the first day of a 100-hour celebration. Miami Beach through the 1990s and into the 2000s has been synonymous with female impersonation or drag queens, especially with the huge Hollywood hit, The Birdcage.
