Kids, it’s time to get egg-cited again! Yes, Easter Weekend is here, and that means in between dressing up in your Sunday best to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, you can stuff your little faces with chocolate bunnies, pastel-colored candies and Marshmallow Peeps.

And there are plenty of egg-cellent events to assist in this annual sweet-treat gorge-fest, so get cracking, grab a basket and head for the Easter egg hunt nearest you.

YOUNG AT ARTS’ EGGSTRAVAGANZA

Celebrate early at this annual Eggstravaganza Egg Drop contest, which encourages kids to use their creativity and ingenuity to create cradles or parachutes to protect their eggs as they are dropped nearly 50 feet from the top of a fire-truck ladder.

The Seaquarium’s waddling new friends from Penguin Isle have taken over its Easter celebration, but you’ll still find continuous Easter egg hunts, bounce houses, slides, rides, a rock-climbing wall, and a daily Easter Parade starting at 12:30 p.m., with floats, bands, strolling performers, costumed characters and, who else? The Easter Bunny.

With more than 50,000 eggs, there will be more than enough for all the kids to hunt (and if you find a Golden Egg, you’ll score a special Easter basket!), but it’s much more than that. There’s also live entertainment, a KidsZone featuring rides and interactive inflatables, and picture-taking with the Easter Bunny.
