Police arrested a local man they say fatally stabbed another man during a fight Saturday on Hollywood Beach, authorities said.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Hollywood police received calls about a stabbing at a pavilion at Charnow Park, located at 300 Garfield St. There, officers found a man with multiple stab wounds in his abdomen, authorities said. Witnesses told police that the stabbing happened during a fight with another man, who rode away on a bicycle from the pavilion after the fight.
Officers said they found Clarence Michel Martin, 60, who matched the description of the bicyclist, riding a bicycle near Grant Street and North Ocean Drive. Martin was carrying a knife and admitted to detectives that he had stabbed the man, whom he knew, police said.
Hollywood Fire Rescue took the stabbing victim to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood where he died Sunday. His identity will not be released until next of kin is notified.
