Horrified by the shootings that left 49 people dead and 53 wounded inside the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando Sunday morning, managers at the family-owned Plenitude Funeral Homes in Pembroke Pines have offered free funeral services for families in Broward or Miami-Dade who lost a loved one in the rampage that has been called the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

“We want to let the community know we are willing to help with funeral expenses, cremations, viewings,” said Paola Serna, Plenitude’s general director at the Pembroke Pines location. The local funeral home, which specializes in repatriations to Latin America, has been in Broward for three years and is part of a 65-year tradition in Colombia where Plenitude, known for its bright showrooms, originated.

“It’s the moment all of us in the Latin community should help these families go through the process,” Serna said. “There are families that don’t have the money to provide the services.”
