A number of passengers were being treated at Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport.
At least four passengers were injured while on the Allegiant Air flight headed to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on Thursday afternoon, according to airport officials.
They said the cause of their injuries was turbulence.
The injuries prompted the pilots to divert the plane to Fort Lauderdale.
At last check, the plane was parked at one of the terminals as crews treated the passengers.
The company has not released a statement on the incident, so far.
