Moments before fleeing his classroom at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School after a shooting Wednesday afternoon, senior Jake Greenberg managed to snap a quick video of the scene on his iPhone.
The footage is brief. Mere seconds. But the image is graphic.
Amid scattered desks, a body is on the floor. A pair of legs, clad in black pants and black shoes, is visible on the the floor. There is a smear of blood near the body. The sound of chatter and activity can be heard. The clip is about three seconds in length.
Jake, 18, sent the video to his father who forwarded it to Robert Greenberg, the boy’s uncle.
“He’s a little shaken up and home safely,” Greenberg said.
