A Belle Glade teen used a BB gun to shoot a family's dog while the teen was riding his bike, authorities said.
Andrew Thornton, 18, was arrested and booked at the Palm Beach County Jail on a charge of animal cruelty.
He is accused of shooting Vontricsa Tomlin's dog Saturday afternoon in front of her son, according to a Sheriff's Office arrest report.
Tomlin called authorities Saturday afternoon to report the shooting outside her home in the 900 block of Southwest Avenue C. Her son allegedly saw Thornton ride up on a bicycle and point a black BB gun at the dog.

Tomlin's son told him not to shoot, but the teen did, the report said. Thornton left.
The dog, the breed of which is unknown, was bleeding heavily from the neck when deputies arrived. It is not clear if it survived.
Deputies later found Thornton walking in the neighborhood and arrested him.
He is being held on $4,500 bail, jail records show.
