An assistant principal helping direct drop-off traffic at Coral Springs Taravella High School was run over and trapped by an SUV on Wednesday morning, Coral Springs police say.
Coral Springs police and fire rescue workers freed Lisa Pannazzo, who was pinned under the vehicle. Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue flew her to Broward North Medical Center as a Level 1 trauma alert.
Police said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
With the drop-off traffic and confusion common to the first week of school, Taravella stationed Pannazzo a block from the school, which is at 10600 Riverside Dr.
