A hit-and-run led to a death of a pedestrian crossing Oakland Park Boulevard around 1 a.m. Sunday, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

BSO is searching for a 2002-07 Jeep Liberty with damage to the front driver side bumper, headlight, marker lens and maybe the hood. The driver’s side fender cover also could be missing.

The crash happened in the 3400 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard. Deputies are withholding the victim’s name and age until family can be notified.

Anyone with information can contact BSO Detective Michael Kelliher at 954-321-4845; Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477); or the Broward Crime Stoppers website.

Just this year, Broward’s seen the hit-and-run deaths of a Davie pedestrian, a Davie grandmother, a Weston cyclist, doctor and father and a Fort Lauderdale 19-year-old cycling home from work.
