This duo of thieves faced darkness, stormy weather and a tall fence surrounding the property’s perimeter.

They managed to steal more than $35,000 worth of tools from a steel contracting business on a rainy night July 30.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office released a video Thursday of the incident in hopes that the public can help identify the thieves, who used large bolt cutters to break through the fence of Steel Contractors, at 4444 NW Eighth Ave. in Oakland Park. The surveillance tape records the men unbolting machinery from truck beds inside the lot. They got away with eight generators and three welding machines.

At the end of the video, cameras capture the men speeding way in a white Chevy van.

Anyone who has information is asked contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
