Cameras roll as 2 would-be burglars spend 15 minutes trying to get into a home

For 15 minutes, two potential burglars tried to pry open two different doors and even tried to shatter the glass of a different door.

Their efforts proved futile — especially since the glass was hurricane resistant — and they ran away empty handed, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Now detectives are hoping surveillance video of the would-be burglars will help them identify the men.

Detectives say cameras were rolling when the men entered the backyard of a Parkland home at about 9:45 p.m. April 1.

The men, wearing hoodies and gloves, first used a crowbar to try to open one door but couldn’t. They then used the crowbar to hit the glass on another door, but it didn’t break. They spent another nine minutes, according to BSO, trying to pry open a different set of doors.

The men then got spooked and took off with no loot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Detective Roger Jean at 954-509-1458 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
