A Florida Gulf Coast University student who went missing over the weekend was identified as one of the two people found dead in a car that went into a canal along Alligator Alley, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sebastian Ramos, 21, was last seen at about 2 a.m. Sunday in Hollywood with his friend Josh Lausche, Ramos’ brother Nick posted on Facebook Monday. The pair was headed to Bonita Springs.

“All His family and I are worried sick and is out there looking for him,” Nick Ramos posted.

Then on Tuesday morning a Miccosukee police officer spotted an overturned car in a retention pond near mile marker 35.

The silver Mazda 3 was towed from the water. There were two bodies inside.

FHP Spokesman Mark Wysocky said the car was heading west and was coming off an access road to a rest stop, when the driver ran off the road.

Wysocky confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Ramos was one of the victims. He did not identify the second victim, pending notification.

According to Sebastian Ramos’ Facebook page, he was the lead singer in a band with his brother Nick called The Ramos Brothers.
