A beach cleanup event to keep Miami-Dade beaches looking beautiful was held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 on Crandon Park. The first annual Coastal Conservation Service Day which connected local undeserved youth with critical marine and coastal enrichment experiences brought together volunteers and youth in planting sea oats and cleaning up the beach.

The event, presented by Miami-Dade Parks and the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, is being held in conjunction with the Parks department’s 2018 Summer Eco Adventures environmental enrichment program, exclusively for summer campers at Sgt. Joseph Delancy Richmond Heights Park. The youth enrolled in this program will also be participating in the Coastal Conservation Service Day event at Crandon Park.
