An oceanfront lot in Golden Beach that once housed President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s residence sold last week for $10 million.

The Roosevelt home, dubbed his Winter White House, was demolished in 1994, said Alexander Goldstein, broker and CEO of Miles Goldstein Real Estate, who brokered the sale. The 29,600-square-foot lot with 100 feet of oceanfront at 219 Ocean Boulevard contained the remnants of an ultramodern mansion built by architect Carlos Zapata. Nearly demolished, only two walls and a stairwell remained at the time of the sale. “This was strictly a land sale – I should say a sand sale,” Goldstein said.

In 2014, the property with the Zapata-designed house on it sold for $12 million.

Goldstein declined to name the new buyer. He also brokered the sale of Sammy Sosa's oceanfront home in Golden Beach, at 667 Ocean Boulevard, in March for $9.15 million.
